As we are talking about new solo Batman movie, there's not a many news to report. However, since Affleck is currently on a press tour for The Accountant, questions about the movie have inevitably been coming up. Thankfully, the actor has been willing to tell us a few morsels to satisfy the curiosity of fans while they wait for the movie to hit the big screen.
According to critics, Both Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad are hard to consider a success. Those two movies were hyped beyond belief, however, as critical reaction towards them were incredibly harsh, with neither movie managing to top 30% on Rotten Tomatoes.
That doesn't mean that the DC Extended Universe don't have redeeming qualities. In fact, Ben Affleck's Batman got compliments in nearly every review. That is the reason why everyone is so jittery to hear more about his solo Batman movie.
Affleck confirmed that his solo movie will be called "The Batman" (in case he doesn't change it before it releases) while speaking with the Associated Press.
Ben Affleck knows that keeping things simple is usually the best policy. He probably had that in mind while he was looking ahead to his stand-alone Batman film - he's writing, directing, and obviously will be starring in the movie.
In Collider's Steve Weintraub interview, Affleck explained why he chose Deathstroke as the villain for this movie. Here's what he had to say:
Not much information about the movie has been made available as of this time, but it's enough food for thought while we wait. The new Batman film doesn't have a release date yet, but we can expect that it will be in 2018.
