"The K2" is high octane action-drama with mysterious plot and storyline has began to gain popularity in Korea and international. But the question is whether the member of Girl's Generation Yoona can deliver best acting and match Ji Chang-Wook in the tvN show.
For the Girl's Generation Yoona, "The K2" is her fifth drama project as main character. Her first acting lead project was in KBS' drama, "You Are My Destiny" in 2008. Then, it was followed by "Cinderella Man" in 2009 and "Love Rain" in 2011.
Afterwards, she played with veteran actor Ki Bum-Soo in "The Prime Minister and I" in 2013 which earned her the Excellence Award at the 2013 KBS Drama Awards. Therefore, her acting skill may suffice to match her co-star Ji.
"The K2" did not waste time to build the tension. Since the first episode, the drama took a high speed in delivering its storyline. In the first two weeks of its broadcast, its main characters Ji and Yoona showed a tenacity to deliver high class action. This is especially true for Ji, who has said that it will be his last action drama, as reported by Soompi.
Meanwhile, "The K2" tells the story of a former secret service agent Kim Je-Ha who was abandoned by the country and his partners. He also had to lose his girlfriend in an incident. Consequently, he lost all trusts in any governmental organization.
Je-Ha returned to Korea and become a bodyguard for a presidential candidate Jang Se-Joon (Jo Sung-Ha). Se-Joon assigned him to watch over his illegitimate daughter Go Anna (Yoona) whom he tries to hide, according to My Daily Korea. Six months before returning to Korea, Je-Ha had met and helped Anna in Spain when someone tried to rob her, and Je-Ha escaped from his captivity.
In the last week episode, Je-Ha was in charge to monitor Anna's activity in her house through the CCTV. This will be the new beginning of the love story between them in the next episode.
Catch "The K2" on TVN every Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m KST (GMT+9). International fans can also follow each episode through cable channel service in their own country.
