A three-team deal between the Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers might be possible.
In this deal, D'Angelo Russell and Lakers teammate Nick Young will be dealt to the Sixers. Kevin Love of the Cavs and Dario Saric of the Sixers will be in added to the Lakers. Sixers' center Nerlens Noel and Lakers guard Jose Calderon will be with the defending NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers.
Entering into his 9th NBA season, Kevin Love is known as a very good player who could dominate the game offensively and is a rebounding beast. He played his best basketball with the Minnesota Timberwolves. His stats went down a little bit in his two years with the Cavs. But it is in Cleveland that he won an NBA Championship.
Dario Saric on the other hand is a 22-year old Croatian player who just signed a deal with the Philadephia 76ers this offseason. He is seen as a potential star in the NBA.
The Lakers made it clear that they wanted to be back on the right track especially now that Luke Walton is the head coach. With Kobe Bryant retired from the spotlight, the Lakers is now seeking for a young player who would carry the franchise on his shoulder.
If Russell will be traded, that guy could be Saric. They are also searching for an All-Star caliber talent who could provide that immediate impact on the basketball court. Love can do that role. He is a great offensive player who just needs more opportunities to carry the scoring load. He can be back to being the number 1 option if he comes to the Lakers.
Nerlens Noel could be a good fit for the Cavs. With the departure of big man Timofey Mozgov to the Lakers, the NBA Champs needs a big man who could help Tristan Thompson in the low post. Noel is known as a good offensive and defensive player down low. Teaming up with Thompson would make the Cavs inside more powerful.
Jose Calderon is also a good fit for the Cavs. With Matthew Dellavedova already out to play for the Milwaukee Bucks, they need a good back-up point guard for All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving. The Spanish veteran guard is a good back-up point guard who could pass and score well off the bench. He average 9.9 points and 6.5 assists per game in 748 games, per wikipedia.
If D'Angelo Russell will be traded to the Sixers, this doesn't make much difference. Because both the Sixers and the Lakers are in the rebuilding process. In terms of scoring opportunities, Sixers is much better for him. In terms of winning games, he has more change to win more games with the Lakers. Adding Nick Young might provide the Sixers more scoring options.
If this trade will happen, which team should benefit the most?
