The highly anticipated remake of HBO hits series "Entourage" will replace "Cinderella and Four Knights" as Friday and Saturday drama on tvN in November. So. what is the difference between the Korean and American version?
The Korean adaptation of HBO hits series "Entourage" will be the replacement of the popular drama "Cinderella and Four Knights" in the same time slot on Friday and Saturday night. tvN purchased the right to adapt the HBO hits series in 2015 and since then tvN began the process to produce the series.
tvN assigned freshmen writer and director to work on the drama, writer Seo Jae-Won and director Jang Young-Woo. The cast members are Seo Kang-Joon, Park Jung-Min, "the Giraffe" Lee Kwang-Soo, Lee Dong-Hwi and veteran actor Cho Jin-Woong. Filming started last May in Gangnam area as reported by Joongang Daily per IS+.
"Entourage" is the Korean remake of the popular HBO drama series aired in 2004-2011 as reported by Soompi. The American version follows the story of a young actor Vincent Chase and his three childhood friends who used to live in the same neighborhood in Queens, New York. The four of them become entourage, hence the name of the series.
In the"Entourage" original version, Vince's childhood friends are his elder brother who is also an actor Johnny "Drama" Chase, Salvatore "Turtle" Assante and his manager Eric Murphy. Vincent has a relentless agent. the memorable Ari Gold, played by Jeremy Piven.
While in Korean version of "Entourage," the young actor is Cha Young-Bin (Seo). His entourage are his brother Cha-Joon (Kwang-So), Turtle which is called Geobug in Korean (Dong-Hwi), and manager Ho-Jin (Park). While to match Piven's acting, veteran actor Cho is cast as Young-Bin's agent Kim Eun-Gab.
The drama released the first still image on last week on Sept. 28 as reported by Sports Chosun per Naver. Prior to its premiere on Nov. 4, tvN released teaser trailer for the "Entourage" Episode 1. Watch it below:
