Director James Gunn denies rumor about The Elders in "Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 2

"Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 2" movie director James Gunn debunked rumor about alien Elders that will have more important role in the second installment of successful Marvel movie "Guardian of the Galaxy."

Gunn junked the rumor that first circulated from movie reviewer Schmoe Knows that disclosed that the Elders will have more important role in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", as reported by Movie Web.

In the report, Knows claimed the Elders consist of The Collector (Benicio del Toro), Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) and other characters played by Sylvester Stallone and Sharon Stone.

In his response via Twitter, Gun slammed the report saying, "Where do you guys get this nonsense? Who are all the people running around giving fake inside scoops to journalists?"

Sylvester Stallone was indeed spotted in the footage of "Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 2" at San Diego Comic Con this year, as reported by Screen Rant.

However, he did not dress up as an Elder, but wearing a Ravager uniform. Kurt Russel also made an appearance and he is cast as Star-Lord father. Ayesha was already confirmed as one of the main villains in the movie.

Some fans also doubt that Ayesha is one of the Elders, as reported by ComicBook.com.

Ayesha, whose real name is Paragon, was an artificial being created by a group of scientists who called themselves Enclave. She is capable of manipulating cosmic energy and use her body cells as a receptor of the energy for variety of purposes.

The Elders in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is a group of some very ancient aliens. They are the powerful, cosmic beings and the oldest sentient creatures in the entire MCU, including the "Guardian of the Galaxy" the universe. They gather together to monitor everything that happened in the galaxy.

"Guardian of the Galaxy vol. 2 " is scheduled for release next year together with another highly anticipated Thor sequel "Thor: Ragnarok."
