MacBook Air fans can now breathe a sigh of relief as the recent rumors hint towards its October launch. Several reports were doing the rounds about Apple's move to kill the Air model by making their MacBook Pro lighter and slimmer. But now, it appears that MacBook Air will not only return but will make an explosive comeback with all the new features and rumored additions, said recent reports.
Many believe that Apple event held on Sept.7 was only intended for its iPhone 7 launch and that they did not want to confuse its fans by also releasing their MacBook variants on the same day. Hence, the rumor is rife that another event in October will unveil the MacBook line-up, just in time for holidays.
Credible sources claim that MacBook Air production is already in process, along with that of MacBook Pro and that in its October launch, as reported by Forbes. As far as the specs are concerned, the new MacBook Air will come packed with interesting new features.
Reports claim that new MacBook Air will be thinner and slimmer than its previous models. There is also rumor about USB Type-C being included in the upcoming Air and will feature new generation Intel processors under the hood. Some even speculate that the new MacBook line-up will add Touch ID support to their upcoming laptops to incorporate Apple Pay that has already been confirmed in the new MacOS Sierra update.
Meanwhile, there is also speculation about dropping the 3.5mm headphone jack from MacBook models, in line with Apple's latest move to remove the port on their iPhone 7. This rumor makes sense as the new Air model is expected to be the thinnest ever introduced by Apple.
While it is interesting to know that MacBook Air will survive another update before it is discontinued, but the enthusiasts should take the news with a grain of salt, until confirmed by Apple.
