Nokia may not be very well-known for producing Android phones, as it has traditionally relied on the Symbian OS for most of its mobile phones as well as the Windows Phone OS for its later releases. However, the Finnish tech company is reportedly working on a new Android smartphone set to be called the D1C.
Different sources have noted that the D1C will run on Android 7.0 Nougat, which will be quite interesting. When it comes to different specs and features, some of the sources has confirmed that it will be a mid-ranged phone, contrary to other rumors that it'll be Nokia's latest flagship.
The D1C is rumored to be equipped with a Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor, which has a clock speed of 1.4 GHz. Although it's efficient in providing quite good performance, it's not the kind of processor used in high-end smartphones.
The installed RAM will be around 3 GB, which should be sufficient enough to run most apps and games. The onboard memory is expected to be around 32 GB.
When it comes to the D1C's display, SlashGear has confirmed that the display size will be around 5-5.5 inches with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels.
With cameras being an integral part of smartphones these days, it's expected that fans will expect so much from the D1C's camera. If rumors are to be believed, the D1C will most likely have a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera with LED flash. GSM Arena has provided further details in their report.
Fans of Nokia and tech-savvy people alike are looking forward for the D1C, which is expected to be announced on August 2017. Hopefully, it will result in a good turnaround for Nokia as they continue to tread through the Android smartphone market.
