Danica Patrick's fellow NASCAR driver has a message for her: "Shut up and race."
David Gilliand delivered the message on Sunday after the STP 400 race in Kansas City, Kansas in response to comments Patrick made during the race.
"He tries to take me out every time," Patrick told her team over the radio and broadcasted by Fox, according to USA TODAY Sports. "Tell his spotter that I'm coming after him if he does it again. In fact, I might just do it right now."
Patrick did not go after Gilliland, but her frustration was obvious. Gilliland and Patrick are both ranked in the 20s, and the pair often battle along the same part of the track. He finished in 23rd place, and she finished 25th.
Gilliand's driving wasn't Patrick's only issue on Sunday; a piece of trash landed on her window and forced an unscheduled pit stop, which cost her positioning on the track.
"The trash on the grille was what really hurt us today," Patrick said after the race. "The temps went way high and we had to pit to pull it off. That put us two laps down."
Patrick's crew chief, Tony Gibson. believes if not for a piece of trash landing on her window, she could have had a stronger finish.
"[Patrick] drove a hell of a race today," he said. "You can't do nothing about the grille there... We know we should have been about 15th. We made some gains, we'll learn and go on."
Patrick advanced to 25th place in the Cup standings.
