Authorities successfully captured a lion from the Wildlife Survival Sanctuary in Florida that escaped from her unit on Friday, WTSP reported.
The local station said earlier that the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission was being assisted by the agricultural unit of the Pasco County Sheriff's Office in their search for the 7-year-old lion who dug out of her enclosure.
According to the sheriff's office, the lion was found around 12:30 p.m.
Gary Morse, a spokesman for the commission, said she was placed in an "inspected, secured" cage. In addition, wildlife trapper Vernon Yates added the lion never exited sanctuary property and that the public was never in any danger.
On the sanctuary's Facebook page, they show at least two female lions that live there -- Jayla, a mountain lion, and Savannah, an African lion. It is unknown which lion escaped.
The sanctuary has not commented on the issue and an investigation into the matter is ongoing.
