It was previously reported that Disney couple Dove Cameron and Ryan McCartan were sharing their wedding plans. It came as a shocking news to Disney fans to see in the headlines that the couple have already parted ways.
The former couple had a strong three years of time together and got engaged in April this year. But after roughly six months of being engaged, sadly, the Disney couple broke up. 23-year old Ryan McCartan broke the news about the split on his official Twitter account.
He tweeted, "Dove has decided this relationship isn't what she wants. We still love each other very much. Please be sensitive, as this is painful."
And on his second tweet he said, "I love you all. Thanks for keeping me up."
Basing from the actor's tweets, it seems like he was the one who got dumped. 20-year old Dove Cameron has also tweeted about the status of their relationship, "Thank you for your support & full hearts in this very intense & human time. There's a lot love between Ryan & I. Life is beautiful & long."
According to ET Online, the former couple first started dating when they met on the set of Disney channel series Liv & Maddie, in August 2013. The two stars are reportedly set to appear in the series until 2017.
It was remembered that it was the actor who announced their engagement in April through posting on his official Instagram account, where he referred Cameron as his 'new fiancé.'
According to Just Jared, rumors about their then unconfirmed breakup began to swirl when McCartan unfollowed Cameron on Instagram and Twitter. Fans have then wondered about the reason behind the split when the actor confirmed it on Twitter.
There has not been any clear reasons behind the split yet but the fans have speculated that it maybe because of both Disney stars' busy schedules that ignited the split. Other sources are also saying that 20-year old Cameron may think that she is still too young for this kind of commitment.
It has also been reported that the actress' friends think that McCartan was allegedly just using Cameron for exposure. Whatever it may be, we still can't confirm because the former couple has not really cleared up to the public the real reason behind the split.
Despite the breakup, the two stars continue to focus on their acting careers as the McCartan is set to star inRocky Horror Picture Show remake on Fox this October 20. Cameron, on the other hand, is going to appear on the upcoming live musical, Hairspray Live! on NBC.
