Top actor Song Jong-Ki was spotted wearing military uniform during his military reserve training in a photo on Oct.12. The picture went viral as it reminded fans of Captain Yoo Si-Jin in "Descendants of the Sun."
Wiki Tree reported that Song was spotted in a short haircut with a neat military uniform.
In Korea, every male citizen aged between 18 and 35 must be enlisted in the mandatory military service for two years. After it, the enlisted personnel must follow the regular reserve military training. Failure to attend it as a reservist can end with criminal charge.
Song was enrolled in mandatory military enlistment in 2013 and he was assigned at 102 Replacement Center in Chuncheon, South Korea.
Song was discharged from the army in May last year. His first drama project after he finished his training was playing a Korean special force captain in a conflict area of fictional country Urk in "Descendants of the Sun."
Song began his career in a minor role in period drama "The Frozen Flower" with his senior agency mate Jo In-Sung. Song, Jo and Park Bo-Geum are three top actors from Blossom Entertainment agency, which was founded by Cha Tae-Hyun in 2012 after he left SidusHQ.
Song made a memorable acting in "Descendants of the Sun", where he played a captain in Korea Special Force who was assigned in a peace keeping mission in Urk.
After finishing "Descendants of the Sun," Song is busy filming the historical drama "Battleship Island." He is playing the role of an independence group member Park Moo Young who infiltrate the fortified island of Hashima where around 400 Joseon people was kept to work as a forced laborers in the coal mines. The island's shape resembled the shape of a battleship, hence the name "Battleship Island."
