As 2016 falls to dusk, another name adds up to the list of celebrities who passed away this year. And this time, it's Tommy Ford.
Thomas Tommy Ford, an actor who is best known for his role Tommy Strawn as a friend of Martin Lawrence's character in the 1990s sitcom "Martin," has passed away on Wednesday in Atlanta.
Ford's agent and family spokeswoman, Joy Pervis, confirmed the news of his death to ABC News at such a young age of 52.
"It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Son, father, brother, husband, and friend Tommy Mykal Ford. On behalf of the family, we would like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers. Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. Please respect the privacy of the Ford family during our time of grief." Tommy Ford's family said on Ford's social media accounts.
As per reports Ford was on life support system from past few days, suffering a ruptured aneurysm in his abdomen, at an Atlanta hospital.
"Martin," which was aired on Fox from 1992 to 1997, Ford played as Tommy Strawn in all five seasons.
Lawrence tweeted a picture of himself along with Ford, "Prayers up for my brother @BigTommyFord and his family."
Ford also appeared in other TV series "New York Undercover" and "The Parkers.", as well.
Other than working in TV series Ford also credited in films too, which included, Robert De Niro's "Night and the City."and Eddie Murphy-Richard Pryor movie "Harlem Nights".
The website of the actor had mentioned that he was occupied in building a career beyond camera. He had been producing and directing several webisodes. He was also involved in several theater productions.
