Chargers coach Mike McCoy returned San Diego back to the playoffs in his inaugural season with the team. San Diego made a final push for a spot in the playoffs by closing out the regular season with four straight wins.

For San Diego, not much changes when they visit Cincinnati on Sunday.

"We've been on a playoff run for the last month really, to be honest with you," McCoy said, via ESPN. "We were 5-7, no one gave us the chance. And we just said, 'Listen, just take care of the next opponent and see what happens.' It's going to be the same thing this week."

McCoy not only brought the Chargers back to the playoffs, he also rejuvenated the career of quarterback Philip Rivers. After struggling for two seasons, Rivers enjoyed a renaissance of sorts this year while completing 69.5 percent of his passes for 4,478 yards and 32 touchdowns. He also cut down on turnovers, tallying only 11 interceptions through the regular season.

Cincinnati handed San Diego a 17-10 loss when the clubs met on Dec. 1 and went on to win three of their next four games.

"I want to be very respectful because they had a lot to do with it," Rivers said of the loss to Cincinnati. "They caused the turnovers and they covered us. Some of it may not have been the best throw. They certainly were out there causing us to not get in the end zone and our execution wasn't great. We've got to execute better."
