Android Nougat is ready to transport you to new worlds with its Multi-Window view, Quick Switch between apps, and Virtual Reality mode.
Google's Android 7.0 Nougat is the latest Android version for every smartphone. All smartphone manufacturers appears to be geared up to release Android 7.0 Nougat update to their devices. LG G5 would be among the first smartphones that would be upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat
It's a big leap for LG as not many companies have been able to update their flagships to Android 7.0 Nougat. As mentioned above, only select Nexus phones along with few others are fixed to receive the update. LG G20 was the first phone to come with Android 7.0 Nougat pre-installed; and after that, Google launched Pixel smartphones with Android 7.1.
Brand: LG | Android Version |
LG G2 | 5.0.2 |
LG G3 | 5 |
LG F70 | 4.4.2 |
LG G4 | 6.0 |
LG G5 | New OS Version Android 7.0 Nougat - Testing, expected in Nov. |
While the testing phase is going on, the Nougat update on LG G5 will bring more customization features, an improved UI, and better battery performance.
The best feature you would like to know about is, "Doze mode". It has been tweaked so that your phone gets into sleep mode when not in use, saving battery. Now users can reply to the messages directly from the Notification panel without opening the application. Android 7.0 Nougat will release more such features to LG G5.
LG G5 launched earlier this year and was one of the first mainstream smartphones to embrace the modular trend. The company launched "Friends" accessories including camera and speaker modules that connected directly to the phone.
Even with these "Friends", LG G5 was something of a sales disappointment for the company. LG hopes to bounce back with the launch its latest smartphone, the LG 20. The smartphone, which comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, will officially launch on Oct. 28 in the US.
