Honda launches new 2017 CR-V: Full Specs, Release Date, Price Revealed

Honda revealed the first images and information on the all-new CR-V. The fifth-generation Honda CR-V is a bit larger than its predecessor. Also for the first time, the Honda car is getting a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine.

The monster SUV gets its styling inspiration from the latest Honda Civic. The new 2017 CR-V will come with a longer hood, wide muscular fenders, and crisper lines on its front end.

The new grille of the car is capable of automatically opening and closing to minimize the drag, reports Science World Report.

According to Chicago Tribune, the redesigned body and chassis will give new CR-V more confident handling and the additional ground clearance with greater refinement.

The latest SUV will get its power from the turbocharged 1.5-litre engine. All Entry-level models are expected to carry a 2.4-litre tank and a four-cylinder petrol engine.

The new Honda SUV CR-V is reported to have a CVT automatic transmission. With that customers will choose from front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive footing. The fifth gen SUV is also coming with top class technology that includes a powered tailgate, which is based on a foot-operated sensor.

The latest CR-V is having 7-inch touch screen featuring Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto connectivity. The autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assistance and active cruise control are some of its key features.

The new Honda CR-V is likely to be offered in both 5-seater and 7-seater options. The latest model is expected to get a stretched wheelbase by 80mm in order to accommodate third row seat to be offered on the top end versions.

Honda has also added a class production capacity to its Greensburg, Ind., plant to stay ahead of its competitors. The Company has even stopped the production of CR-V at its plant in Mexico. While the Honda is expected to sell more than 365,000 CR-Vs in the U.S. in 2017

The price for the fifth generation SUV, CR-V has not been disclosed. But a report on Auto Week shows that car will be costing you at $23,595; however customers are still waiting for the official price release.
