Dangerous asteroid spotted by NASA could wipe out life on earth

Recently, an asteroid has been seen to be approaching the orbit of Earth. This asteroid is dubbed Asteroid 2000 ET70. Experts are desperate to know how close it is going to be relative to the Earth and they are using powerful telescopes to do so.

The asteroid was just discovered recently as space rock that is two miles wide and has caused a stir among the astronomers ever since. The oncoming asteroid is now labeled as a potentially hazardous asteroid by astronomers from some universities in America.

The asteroid is shaped like a fish but little is known about it as stated by NASA. The reason for the worry of the experts is the size of the asteroid. Apparently, when close to Earth, its size may lead to large tidal waves, earthquakes, and general disastrous events and there's a possibility it may cause the planet carnage.

Once, in 2012, it has been recorded that the asteroid has passed earth, It came close to 18 lunar distances which were already dangerously near then.

The scientists have discovered that it may very well return and when it does, they fear that it will pass closer to earth and this may lead to a direct hit. Despite that, NASA attempts to find information that might counter the fears of an asteroid-caused end of the world.

A spokesman said: "NASA knows of no asteroid or comet currently on a collision course with Earth, so the probability of a major collision is quite small." Moreover, he stated that there is little to no probability that a large object will strike the earth for the coming several hundred years.

This was the result of scientists issuing a warning of possibilities of huge asteroids heading for Earth without the knowledge of the people.
