Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder is reportedly taking an "Al Davis" approach to finding his next coach. Some names emerging as potential candidates for the D.C. job include Jay Gruden, Vic Fangio, Greg Roman, Mike Zimmer, Sean McDermott and James Franklin.
Snyder appears determined to interview as many potential coaches as possible in his search for Mike Shanahan's replacement. At least 11 coaches have been linked to the vacancy so far, which ESPN NFL Insider Bill Polian believes is a smart move.
"This is the Al Davis approach to coaching hires. Spread the net as far as you can, pick the brain of as many people as you can," Polian said, via ESPN's Bill Hofheimer. "Ultimately make the decision but you've gained intelligence on how all the other good organizations in the league work."

While the Redskins have a large list of possible coaches, one report from Bleacher Report indicates many coaches are wary of taking the job because of Snyder's meddling and close relationship with quarterback Robert Griffin III.
Washington finished the season with a 3-13 record, a far fall from last season's NFC East title. Shanahan, who reportedly had friction with Griffin, was fired on Dec. 30.
