If NBA trade rumors are a hot topic, so is the NFL trade rumors. Especially now that the 2016 NFL season is already over a month old.
Two of the top names on the NFL trade rumors list are Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers and Joe Thomas of the Cleveland Browns. Let's take a closer look at Kaepernick first.
According to Sportsrageous, the San Francisco 49ers and Colin Kaepernick agreed to restructure the quarterback's contract. Because of this, Kaepernick could become an unrestricted free agent after this NFL season.
With this changes made, rumors started began to speculate that Kaepernick might be traded.
NFL rumors speculated that Kaepernick's probable destinations if a trade pushes through are Los Angeles Rams, Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns and Seattle Seahawks. But out of these five teams, the top two teams that might have the highest possibility of acquiring Kaepernick are the Browns and Rams. In these 2 teams, he might become a starter and will probably play major minutes.
As of this moment, no negotiations have been made between the 49ers and other teams. These were all speculations and rumors for now.
The other player that is a hot topic on the trade rumor talks centered around the offensive tackle of Cleveland Browns, Joe Thomas.
Drafted as the 3rd overall pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2007, he immediately made an impact in NFL. He was selected to Pro-Bowl 9 times, First-team All-Pro 6 times and Second-team All-Pro 2 times. He is now on his year 10 in his NFL professional career. And as of this writing, he played a total of 150 NFL games and started in all of those games.
That is why, even at the age of 31, many teams are still interested in getting him. Because he is still at the top of his game. Two of those interested teams are speculated to be the Carolina Panthers and Detroit Lions.
But according to NESN, Thomas will not request for a trade from the Cleveland Browns. Thomas played his entire NFL career with the Browns. And there's a high possibility that he will play with the Browns for the rest of his career.
As the NFL season continues, stay tuned for more trade rumors very soon.
