Creepy killer clowns may spell trouble for people on Halloween as it is said that they are planning a purge night on coming Sunday, Oct. 30 before Halloween. They have been terrorizing people for a few months and now that the big day is coming, everyone is scared.
Stories of the killer clowns indulging in mass killings before Halloween night have become regular news, reports Morning News USA. It is also said that one may face serious threat if one dresses like a clown. One may land in prison for inducing panic and terror.
The killer clown stories are now a matter of security concern as Gallatin County Sheriff Josh Neale has taken steps in this regard. He has roped in the FBI and Homeland Security to counter the threat and therefore, if one is planning to don a clown costume, it is better to give the idea a miss.
Notably, the killer clown stories started from Greenville in South Carolina two months before, in August when rumors of the clowns trying to tempt kids into the woods started doing the rounds. It was also said that they were seen chasing and attacking adults. Later, the stories became global as reports of clown sightings also started pouring in from UK, Australia, and even Russia.
Meanwhile, the police have found out the mastermind behind the Facebook page Clown Hunters that had issued a warning about the purge night through a post, claims Morning Ledger. The post in question, that had also gotten half million shares, was merely the prank of a teenager. The teenager, however, has not been charged with any crime.
It has been confirmed that the post was just a hoax and nothing like purge is going to take place around Halloween and thus, there is no need to panic. Still, the fear has spread far and wide and many are apprehensive about venturing out. People seem to be cautious about their children going out for the "Trick or Treat" game.
It is worth mentioning here that initially people had thought that the clowns were just a promotion strategy for Stephen King's movie "It."
