The rivalry between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers are starting to pick up nowadays as NFL trade deadline draws near. Many also believe that they are two of the top teams in the league today and could meet in the playoffs this season.
The Cowboys are holding a 5-1 record landing at the top spot in NFC division while the Packers are not far behind with a 4-2 record (3rd) in the same division.
But both are also have been linked to numerous trade rumors for the past few weeks. Cowboys two players, Tony Romo and Dez Bryant, have been rumored on the move to other teams but until now they are still with the team.
Meanwhile, the Packers just recently been inquiring the availability of Cleveland Browns CB Joe Haden but so far no agreement has been made.
And now, it seems that both teams will meet at the trading table for a possible deal. According to 247Sports, there been talks between the Cowboys and Packers for a possible trade deal involving Cowboys RB Darren McFadden. Speculation is growing that the Cowboys might release McFadden and could strike a deal with the Packers.
Report are saying now that Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is leading the NFL in rushing and with Lance Dunbar, Alfred Morris, and rookie Darius Jackson are all healthy, it seems that there's no room for McFadden once he comes back from injury.
And with reports that Packers starting RB Eddie Lacy will be out for the remainder of the season due to a knee injury, this could be the perfect time for the Packers to reach out to the Cowboys and strike a deal to acquire McFadden.
But aside from the Packers, the Detroit Lions are also pitching in to get the services of McFadden according to CBS Local. The Lions too has woes in the RB spot having Ameer Abdullah in the injury reserved while Theo Riddick and Dwayne Washington haven't played for a couple of weeks.
Now, it only leaves them with Zach Zenner and Justin Forsett manning the backfield. This might the right time for the Lions to call the Cowboys and work on a deal.
Though there's a possibility that Riddick and Washington might be able to play this weekend, adding McFadden could be their best option being an eight-year veteran of the league as per stated in the report.
Where will Darren McFadden go? To the Green Bay Packers or the Detroit Lions?
