Disneyland is reportedly preparing for the "Star Wars Episode 7" release next year by revamping their Tomorrowland.
According to MiceChat.com, a few lucky Imagineers know the plotline and characters for the upcoming film. Check out the inside scoop below:
"The Imagineers assigned to the Star Wars Tomorrowland project have now been debriefed on the characters and plotlines coming for Star Wars Episode VII that opens in theaters in about two years.
"The original plan for Disneyland's Tomorrowland relied heavily on characters and plot points from the first three Star Wars films, with attractions like a Millenium Falcon walk-thru on the old PeopleMover platform, a wild Tatooine cantina replacing Tomorrowland Terrace, and a speeder bike ride through an Ewok village where Autopia currently sits.
"Those key attractions are all still part of phase two, but they are being layered or tweaked to include references from Episode VII that will be released in theaters at least 18 months before any of those attractions open."
However, the Tomorrowland revamp won't reportedly be revealed until 2017. "Star Wars Episode 7" is set to hit theaters on Dec.18, 2015, and is rumored to begin filming in April this year.
Before the release of "Episode 7", fans can look forward to Lucasfilm and Marvel Entertainment revamping the Dark Horse Comics' "Star Wars", to create new comics and graphic novels for fans beginning in 2015.
"Dark Horse Comics published exceptional Star Wars comics for over 20 years, and we will always be grateful for their enormous contributions to the mythos, and the terrific partnership that we had," Carol Roeder, director of Lucasfilm franchise publishing, Disney Publishing Worldwide, said in a statement. "In 2015, the cosmic adventures of Luke, Han, Leia, and Chewbacca will make the lightspeed jump back to Marvel, to begin a new age of adventures within the Star Wars universe."
