Jennifer Lawrence features in W magazine's best performances portfolio this year and the actress reveales that it was "cake" that led her to fall at the Oscars last year, according to the latest issue of the magazine.
Jennifer Lawrence's brilliant work onscreen in the past one year has won her much acclaim and accolades. The young actress has managed to woo many with stellar performances in "American Hustle" and "The Hunger Games" series, but her stumble at the Oscars while collecting the award for "Best Actress" is still the talk of tinsel town.
So what was she thinking about so intensely that she missed a step? Cake! Yes you heard right. This actress was thinking about cake when she went to receive her award.
"I was at the Oscars, waiting to hear if my name was called, and I kept thinking, Cakewalk, cakewalk, cakewalk. I thought, Why is 'cakewalk' stuck in my head? And then, as I started to walk up the stairs and the fabric from my dress tucked under my feet, I realized my stylist had told me, 'Kick, walk, kick, walk.' You are supposed to kick the dress out while you walk, and I totally forgot because I was thinking about cake! And that's why I fell," she told the magazine.
Lawrence makes no secret of the fact that red carpets make her nervous. In fact, she's revealed during several interviews that the Oscars fall has made her all the more nervous.
"I get so nervous before going down red carpets -particularly after that fall at the Oscars," CTV News quoted the actress as saying. "I've tripped at least a couple of other times, too. I managed to forget to thank both the director and producer when I went on stage, so I wonder what was worse? I had to walk down the stairs at the wedding of my older brother recently and thought, 'I cannot fall again. I just can't."
It's nice to see that stardom hasn't taken away the great sense of humor Lawrence has always portrayed in all her interviews. For instance, during the Oscars last year, she quipped about arriving at the venue starving and craving for McDonalds' French fries.
"I'm seeing you talk, and all I'm thinking about is me pissed that I didn't get fries," Lawrence told Josh Horowitz.
