Don't try to kiss Fox News reporter Mike Tobin while he's reporting.
In a video that has now gone viral, Tobin is seen covering the Boston Marathon bombings live. He's in the middle of describing one of the suspect's actions moments before the second explosion when two girls suddenly emerge to either side of the reporter.
As they swoop in on him, Tobin doesn't miss a beat and raises his arms out in an almost polite sort of stiff arm to push the two ladies away; the pitch in his voice never changes as he cants his head toward the girl on his left and calmly tells her, "please don't do that."
The whole event only takes a second, and Tobin never loses his composure. His transition back to reporting is seamless.
Many reporters could have been made to look foolish in a similar situation. Tobin's professionalism made him look, well, cool. The attention-starved girls never got their 15 seconds of fame.
According to Tobin's Twitter profile, he's Fox News' International Correspondent and has covered wars in Pakistan, Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, Afghanistan and Iraq.
No wonder that Tobin wasn't phased by the girls' attempted surprise kisses.
After the incident, Tobin tweeted: "Heckling comes with the biz. But it's not like they would not no the sbjct. I hope their friends let thm no it wz inappropriate."
