Both the GoPro Hero 5 Black and GoPro Hero 5 Session cameras were launched by the US-based adventure camera specialist, along with the most awaited GoPro Karma high-tech drone.

Design: The GoPro Hero 5 Black camera has a bigger design, complete with a touch-screen LCD display, removable battery, microSD card slot, USB type-C port and micro HDMI port. The touch screen allows the user to have easy control on the camera's various settings.
The GoPro Hero 5 session is designed to be smaller, with a built-in battery, USB type-C port, microSD slot and a monochrome display smaller in size and for the access of settings. A small button is provided along with other buttons for specific use.
Video Features: Both the GoPro Hero 5 Black and Hero 5 Session are capable of capturing up to 4K video at 30 frames per second (fps) with 2.7K, 1440p, 1080p, 960p and 720p resolutions and high bitrate video at up to 60Mb/s along with looping video and auto image rotation features. Both are also equipped with the GoPro Protune software.
Image Capture: The GoPro Hero 5 Black has a higher-resolution sensor, with capabilities of night image capturing and wide-angle 12 megapixels with ultra-sharp image quality and reduced distortion.
The GoPro Hero 5 Session has a lower resolution sensor with a wide-image 10 megapixels capture with reduced distortion.
Audio features: With respect to audio capabilities, GoPro Hero 5 Black and GoPro Hero 5 Session cameras have similar audio features. Both have a 3.55 mm stereo microphone installed with the capabilities of mono 48 kHz, AAC compression with advanced multi-band AUTOMATIC gain control.
Price: Reports suggest that the GoPro Hero 5 Black camera is priced at USD 399, while the Hero 5 Session camera is priced at USD 299. Both will reportedly come with standard frame, mounting buckle, curved and flat adhesive mounts and a USB Type-C cable.
