Samsung has announced its latest device under the Note lineup, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, after suffering from a major setback with the predecessor Note 7.
Launched in August 2016, Note 7 owners faced with the issue of exploding battery followed by a global recall and refund of their devices.
Although it was speculated that this may be the end of Note series, it seems like Samsung is up and about with the launch of the new Note 8 model.
If rumors are true, the new phablet will launch before the summer of 2017, but no official date has been released yet.
According to Inquisitr, Patrick Moorhead, president and principal analyst with Moor Insights and Strategy, has been reported saying, "I think come January or March - January at CES or March at Mobile World Congress - they'll come out with a Note 8."
To further benefit the consumers and certainly to earn their trust, Samsung has also announced that Note 7 owners in Korea will be provided with an option to upgrade their phone to a Note 8 for half the price, Reuters reports.
Customers who've either already exchanged their Note 7 with a S7 or S7 edge or are willing to do so will receive a 50 percent discount if they chose to buy Note 8 next year.
Currently only available in Korea, it is expected that Samsung may exercise similar offers and discounts to its worldwide audience.
Coming back to Note 8, the phablet is presumed to be packed with 64GB internal memory, 6 GB RAM, Snapdragon Qualcomm octa-core 3.2 GHz processor and a screen resolution of 4096x2160.
The camera is expected to be a 30MP back and a 9MP front. Equipped with Android Nougat right out of the box, Note 8 will also have wireless battery charging facility.
But icing to the cake is said to be the bendable technology of the device. Samsung have been working on the 'flexible' technology of a mobile for quite some time now and we can hope to witness this in both Note 8 as well as Note 8 Edge.
