Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt divorce news hit the fans and celebrities in Hollywood as a wave of shock. The "Maleficent" actress took the initiative to separate from her husband, who has been accused of drinking and abusing their kids.
Jolie's decision to file for divorce from Pitt came after an incident that took place aboard a private jet. According to The Hollywood Gossip, Pitt allegedly had an altercation with Maddox, couple's 15-year-old son. Although it is still not clear what actually happened that infuriated Jolie to file for divorce, but Pitt has to undergo a thorough investigation for child abuse following the incident.
The final decision about the custody of the children is still pending. As of now, Pitt just has the visitation rights, while Jolie has the custody of all their children.
Adding a new twist to the story, couple's former bodyguard has come forward to claim that he has never seen Pitt abusing the kids. However, Jolie has previously been witnessed making threatening statement, according to the unnamed man.
He even claimed heating Jolie threaten Pitt to "beat him to death." This threatening statement was apparently made during a heated discussion between the couple. However, he said that he has never seen Jolie becoming physically abusive at any point of time.
However, he did not say that Jolie has made similar statement for children as well. Still, it is rumored that the Department of Child and Family Services may decide to investigate into Jolie's behavior as well.
But it is not clear whether the department would also look investigate into the claims against Jolie or whether she is likely to face any criminal charges. The Hall of Fame Magazine, on the other hand, reports that the couple tried to save their marriage before opting for divorce.
Jolie and Pitt were attending therapy sessions before filing for divorce. But the sessions did not help and nothing could be done to stop their relationship from breaking apart.
