What fuels Mariah Carey and James Packer separation?

Mariah Carey is officially single now. Days before she broke her engagement with James Packer, she signed the documents for divorce with ex-husband Nick Cannon. The divorce allowed her to remarry Packer, but then she abruptly ended things with Packer as well.

Carey had been delaying signing the divorce with Cannon for years. But she made it official before Carey and Packer got into a fight on the tycoon's yacht in Greece, the NYDailyNews quoted TMZ.

Mariah Carey,46, and Nick Cannon,35, reportedly married in 2008 and filed for divorce in 2015, gaining joint custody of both their children, twins Monroe and Moroccan.

The couple had an easy transition on the distribution of property with both parties getting to keep whatever they earned, and neither getting child support, the report added.

Popcrush quotes TMZ as well and said that Mariah Carey had once said "love takes time", and it took two years for Carey to actually divorce from Cannon after their split.

Mariah Carey was suddenly eager to end things officially with Cannon this year as Carey wanted to marry casino tycoon James Packer. But that was not meant to be either, the report pointed out.

The report suggested that in July, Cannon denied news that he was the one who was delaying the divorce in an interview with entertainment tonight.

"Like, Nah!' That's clearly not the case. Who made that up? Who put that out there?" the rapper said. "I wish it was that easy where you can just sign something and say, 'Oh, I'm done,' but it's a lot of things that go with that that are beyond my control. The only thing that's important to me is my children. I want what's best for them. I believe my ex feels the exact same way." Cannon said reportedly.
