Oklahoma State guard Marcus Smart is a big reason the Cowboys boast a 12-2 record this season. Smart, however, struggled with foul trouble on Saturday as Oklahoma State had their five-game winning streak ended in a 74-71 loss to Kansas State, ESPN reports.

The Cowboys weren't helped by the absence of big man Michael Cobbins, who suffered a season-ending Achilles tear last week, and Stevie Clark, who was arrested last week for possession of marijuana.

It's uncertain if Clark will be available for Wednesday's game.

"This was going to be an adjustment game," Cowboys coach Travis Ford said. "It's been a tough week. We lost a major part of our team."

The team, however, isn't blaming the loss on their depleted depth.

"We played tentative and we need to play hard every game," Cowboys junior swingman Le'Bryan Nash said, via ESPN. "That's what I'm going to do from now on. Play 100 percent and give 100 percent."

Texas (11-3), meanwhile, looks to end Oklahoma State's three-game winning streak against them. The Longhorns are coming off an 88-85 loss on Saturday to Oklahoma and can bolster their confidence with a win over their Big 12 rival.

"It's hard to win in conference play. We're going to see how our guys respond from this (loss on Saturday)," said Longhorns coach Rick Barnes. "They know now that there is a different level of play and it means you've got to get better and everybody has got to be ready to play every night."

Junior forward Jonathan Holmes leads Texas with 13.2 points per game.
