Even though Alyssa Milano has forgiven comedian Jay Mohr for his "fat-shaming" insults made towards her and her post-baby body during a recent radio interview, that didn't stop the "Mistresses" actress from speaking out against such comments while speaking to Extra's Mario Lopez, Us Weekly reports.
When asked what went down, Milano told Lopez, "Well, he made a comment that was not so nice about my weight and I called him out on Twitter about it. I just think he was trying to make a joke and not think about it. I heard it actually on Christmas Day and it hurt me, I was affected by it and I wanted to remind him that I'm a human being and that this hurts. I think it's an interesting statement about where we are socially that people feel that they can sort of rip a woman's body apart after having a baby. I don't think it's fair."
After both Mohr and Milano attended the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards gala in Las Vegas on Dec. 6, Mohr went on air and sent on the subject of Milano, whom he referred to as "Melissa-what's-her-name:" "She was one of the presenters...She's very tiny. In height. It seems like she had a baby and said, 'I don't really give a s**t ... I read it on her gut. Somebody sat in the director's chair and was not wearing Spanx and I was like, 'Jesus Christ.'"
On Dec. 25, Milano took to Twitter with the measured response: "@jaymohr37 So sorry you felt the need to publicly fat-shame me. Be well and God Bless. Please send my love to your beautiful wife. You're all lovely. Thank you for your kind words. #Appreciative."
Afterwards, Mohr professed his apologies on both Twitter and later, on his official website, where he called Milano "an extraordinarily beautiful person" and tweeted, "I mistakenly thought the absurdity of what I was saying would have been taken as a joke. #fail."
Milano accepted his apology via the simple tweet, "Thank you. Apology accepted."
