The Philadelphia 76ers and the Toronto Raptors have one thing in common. Both teams are linked to NBA trade rumors nowadays and it involves 76ers power forward/center, Nerlens Noel. Though it is not surprising to see Noel's name in trade rumors as he's been a familiar figure on this issue for the past few months.
Many say that Noel was placed by the 76ers in the trading block since the start of the offseason due to his frankness with the team's situation and seems to be not mixing well with his other teammates. And with the arrival of a healthy Joel Embiid in the roster, it makes Noel be dispensable to the team and most likely traded anytime soon.
According to Sportsrageous, the Toronto Raptors is willing to strike a deal with the 76ers in order to get the services of Noel. The Raptors are willing to give up guard/forward Terrence Ross and a future first-round pick to the 76ers in exchange for Noel. And reports are saying that this could be a done deal anytime soon.
The report further noted that the 76ers and Noel just recently fall short of reaching an agreement with regards to Noel's contract extension and he will become a restricted free agent after this season. Aside from that, the 76ers are still winless after four games and this could be a reason for the 76ers to eventually drop Noel in the lineup and trade him to the Raptors.
Though Noel hasn't played a game with those losses due to a knee surgery, pundits believe he can be moved before February to the Raptors for Ross and a future pick. And as per checking on the ESPN NBA trade machine, the deal is legal and pass NBA rules and salary cap restriction.
Meanwhile, Parent Herald reports now that 76ers management decide to stick it out with Joel Embiid, it makes Noel and Jahlil Okafor the odd ones and probably to be traded by the team. But Noel is most likely the one that will be left out as he has more trade value that Okafor.
The report also added that Noel have more potential to become a superstar and he already got the attention of the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers, the said to be top two teams in the league today.
