NFL Predictions Week 9: Dallas Cowboys to win 7th straight games vs Cleveland Browns

The Dallas Cowboys is on a roll right now. They just won six straight games even if veteran quarterback Tony Romo is still not officially playing for the Cowboys this season. Thanks to a remarkable season by rising star Dak Prescott who replaced Tony Romo as the starting quarterback for the Cowboys.

Prescott, drafted in the fourth round and 135th overall in the 2016 NFL draft, competed to Jameill Showers during the preseason for a supposedly back-up quarterback position behind Tony Romo. He performed well during the Cowboys' preseason games. Well enough to earn the coaches respect and choose him over Showers.

But an injury from Tony Romo in the preseason opened the gates of opportunity for Prescott. Because of Romo's absence, Prescott became the starting quarterback for the Cowboys. Prescott's impressive performances this season led the Cowboys to an impressive 6-1 record.

They were first in the NFC East division. They were so good this season that only the Cowboys and the New England Patriots remain the teams with only one loss all season so far, per NFL.com

The Cleveland Browns on the other hand, remained winless this season. On Week 8, they lost a very tight home game against the New York Jets with the score of 31-28. They were in a 20-7 lead after halftime but blew the lead in the second half.

The Browns have showcased some greatness in the first half of their last game against the Jets. But they just couldn't maintain that intensity as their defense collapsed in the second half and allowed the Jets comeback. Their defense, by the way, ranked last in the NFL.

Jamie Collins is a new acquisition for the Browns before the NFL Trade deadline ended in November 1. As an exchange for Jamie Collins, the New England Patriots received a 2017 third-round draft pick.

Collins is the 52th pick of the Patriots in the 2013 NFL draft. He already won a Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2014. He was also selected in the Pro Bowl and AP All-Pro Second Team in 2015.

According to cleveland.com, Collins will play a lot in a game against the Cowboys and might even start. Browns' head coach Hue Jackson like him already and another linebacker Chris Kirksey has already been impressed.

Prediction

Most of the analysts and fans will pick the Dallas Cowboys to win this one. And the writer will also route for the Cowboys to win.

The Dallas Cowboys will win their seventh consecutive games and Dak Prescott will have another stellar performance. But expect Jamie Collins to perform well in his Browns' debut.

The game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Cleveland Browns will commence on November 6 at 12:00pm CST and will be held at First Energy Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio.
