Criminal Minds Season 12 News: Fans clamor for Gibson's return; Ratings continue to plummet

The criminal-based investigative series Criminal Minds was supposedly hitting its peak when there was no alteration within the cast. But as for now, the ratings have significantly dropped, particularly after Thomas Gibson was fired from the show.

Thomas Gibson, who plays Aaron Hotchner for the Behavioral Analysis Team got into a physical altercation with the series writer Virgil Williams, which led him to be permanently kicked out of the show.

And despite the exciting plot Criminal Minds has to offer, the ratings have dropped a big time. The Wrap maintains that the ratings for Criminal Minds Season 12 experienced a downfall of about 17 percent compared to the previous season.

While Thomas Gibson and Shemar Moore leaving, Criminal Minds Season 12 saw new faces as well. Paget Brewster returned along with Aisha Tyler who became a series regular. On the other hand, Adam Rodriguez was also welcomed, but despite that fans are still clamoring for Thomas Gibson.

While successfully appearing in 250 episodes of Criminal Minds, fans believe that Thomas Gibson was fired on irrational basis. That is why fans have commenced a boycott campaign to let Thomas Gibson come back as an integral cast of the show. #NoHotchNoWatch, #SupportThomasGibson, #ThankYouThomasGibson, #WeSupportThomasGibson are all examples of the hashtags.

Reports stated that Thomas Gibson was compelled to file a lawsuit for his dismissal from the show. However, his lawyers cautioned that it will further complicate and worsen the case.

While the campaign continues, the next episode of Criminal Minds Season 12 titled as "The Anti-Terrorism Squad", will allow the team to experience a worse case of bullying.

The BAU team under the stewardship of Prentiss (Paget Brewster), will investigate the murder case of two families where in each case, the teenager of the family survives.

Criminal Minds Season 12 Episode 5 was supposed to air last week. But due to the World Series, it was changed to Wednesday 9 November.
