The Sacramento Kings are reportedly interested in offering Jimmer Fredette or Marcus Thornton in a trade for Denver Nuggets guard Andre Miller. Miller became expendable after a confrontation with Nuggets coach Brian Shaw, CBS Sports reports.
Sacramento appears to be the top suitor for Miller and is willing to give Denver the option to choose from three potential deals, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports.
"The Kings have offered Marcus Thornton and a future second-round pick as the framework of a deal for Miller," Berger wrote on Wednesday, "and have presented a package including Jimmer Fredette and a future second as an alternative, two people familiar with the scenarios said Wednesday.
"Those people familiar with the terms of those offers did not know the third scenario presented by Sacramento, but executives gathered here for the D-League Showcase surmised that it likely involves forward Jason Thompson."
Another report, however, indicated Denver may choose to keep Miller until the NBA trade deadline draws closer.
"Source confirms that the Nuggets have shopped Andre Miller," Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld tweeted on Thursday. "However, rival executives say Denver may keep Miller until closer to deadline."
The Kings haven't yet made a formal offer to Denver, according to the Sacramento Bee.
Miller, a 37-year-old veteran, was put on the trade block after he confronted Shaw on Jan. 1 about being benched during the team's 114-102 loss to Philadelphia. Denver suspended Miller for two games; the suspension was later lifted, but the team excused Miller indefinitely from team activities.
