It was recently announced that the spinoff series for "Sons of Anarchy", titled Mayans MC, is currently under development. Since then, fans of the crime drama television series have wondered if Charlie Hunnam, who portrays Jackson Teller, is going to appear on the spinoff and the announced prequel.
Parent Herald reported that the prequel is going to have the title First 9 and the storyline will focus on the beginning of the motorcycle club formation, which John Teller, Jax Teller's father, formed.
There were even rumors that claimed that Allied actor Brad Pitt will be portraying the role. But it was quickly dismissed when it was announced that Warcraft star Travis Fimmel was set to play as Jax Teller's father.
The studio has not really clarifies whether or not Hunnam will appear on the prequel, but fans got their hopes up when it was speculated that the actor may have an appearance on the spinoff series.
According to a source, Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter had hinted about Hunnam's possible return when he shared a picture of the 36-year-old actor, together with one of the stars of the upcoming spinoff. The photo drew the fans' attention. Reports have started claiming that Hunnam's probable appearance on Mayans MC is a big possibility.
And since the actor might appear on the spinoff, fans assume that he will return on the prequel as well. However, as previously stated, Sons of Anarchy prequel will focus on the origins of SAMCRO (Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original), so Hunnam's appearance might just be minimal.
A source reported that Jax Teller's rumored return might not be true, but added that the creators' final decisions have not been disclosed yet.
