Marvel's Infinity War 1 and 2: Kevin Feige teases Earth-616 comics reference; Dr. Strange ties explored

All the movies under Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) are slowly building up to reach its ultimate culmination with Avengers: Infinity War 1 and 2. What more do we know about these movies?

According to a recent interview by Slash Film, Kevin Feige, American film producer and president of Marvel Studios, answered some questions about what we may expect next from MCU.

According to Feige, fans of marvel comics may find that the movies are not following the comic books. Those who are unfamiliar with the comics will find themselves "shocked" upon watching the movies.

Slash Film further points out that since Dr. Strange is wearing the Time Infinity Stone, he may find himself fulfilling a bigger role than expected in the Infinity War, if Thanos gets his hands on the gauntlet.

To this, Feige says, "Once that Gauntlet is on, as the poster of Doctor Strange says, 'the impossibilities are endless.' How do you fight that? How can you defeat that? So we play into all of that. We play into all that stuff. I don't know that we'll get into Earth 1 thru 616 in any one moment anytime soon."

INQUISITR speculates the meaning of the reference 616. Apparently, die-hard comics fan would know that in the fictional Marvel Comics multiverse, Earth-616 or Earth 616 is the main continuity in which most Marvel Comics titles take place.

The report questions whether or not audience will witness other multiverse of Marvel in the MCU movies. Will there be the phenomena of alternate universe or parallel universe in the movies? Like, seeing two Iron-Man or two Captain Americas doing their own thing.

That raises further questions of whether these multiverses will run parallel or intersect each other. That'll be an interesting theory to dwell upon till the actual movies release.

Avengers: Infinity War (Part 1) will release May 4, 2018 and the untitled Avengers (Part Two) will come in theatres on May 3, 2019.
