For the fans of 16-bit era and Sega kids of all ages, your beloved Genesis has returned with a Sega-approved new model. The new console will be available in Brazil and has been made available for pre-order on the site Tectoy.
They have chosen Brazil first because, according to Geek, the Genesis consoles are still a hot item in Brazil, selling around 150,000 units per day. That is extreme, we know.
Sega's officially licensed manufacturing partner TecToy's new Genesis console not only looks almost identical to the original but it also has a traditional cartridge slot and the SD card reader.
If there is a game console Sega is probably best known for, it's the Genesis/Mega Drive. Many Sega die-hards will argue the Dreamcast was the best console produced by the company and they also might right.
But previously, the Sega Genesis made a huge mark in the United States in the late 1980s and early 1990s and now it seems like Genesis is making a return since its death in 1997, reports Digital Trends.
The console also manufactured by Sega but the new model was made with the company's official logo. Latest model is designed to be an exact replica of the console and works with European-compatible cartridges with one small addition of an SD card slot, which is designed for emulation.
With the Taking advantage of updated technology, this model is coming with an SD card that is already loaded with 22 games including classic games such as Sonic 3, Golden Axe and Shinobi 3.
We are looking for TecToy's Genesis console to release in June 2017 for $138 USD. You can also pre-order on Tectoy, which is accepting pre-orders now.
