Xiaomi recently unveiled their Redmi 4, which is dubbed as the successor of Redmi 3S line-up. So, how different or similar Redmi 4 and Redmi 3S Prime are?
Design
Although they look similar, Redmi 3s Prime has a flat screen, while Redmi 4 comes with a 2.5D curved glass screen. Another difference is the camera placement. The rear camera placement in 3S Prime is in the left hand corner whereas Redmi 4's camera is in top middle area.
Other than that, both devices pack fingerprint scanner, metal unibody, ambient light, etc. in same places.
Weight
As per GSMArena, Redmi 4 is a tad heavier with 156 g than 3S Prime's 144 g.
Display
Both handsets are sporting a 5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1280x720 resolution. However, Redmi 4 has 296 ppi pixel density, whereas Redmi 3S Prime has 294 ppi pixel density.
Camera
Xiaomi has provided a 13MP f/2.2 sensor with the Redmi 4 while the Redmi 3S Prime features a 13MP f/2.0 sensor. Both devices come with 5MP f/2.2 sensors front camera. They both pack LED flash feature.
Processor
Another exactly same feature in both devices, Redmi 4 and 3S Prime come with the same octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor clocking at 1.4 GHz. Redmi 3S Prime has 3 GB RAM, while one varient of Redmi 4 has 2GB RAM and the other 3GB RAM.
Battery
Redmi 3S and the Redmi 4 feature 4,100mAh non removable Li-Ion batteries. Thus, we can expect same standby and usage times.
Internal Memory and SD card support
Redmi 4 has two varients. The standard one has a internal memory of 16 GB, while the high ed. has an internal memory of 32 GB. Redmi 3S Prime has 32 GB internal memory, Both supports Micro SD card upto 256 GB, according to BGR. .
