Trade rumors start to heat up again to the Sacramento Kings as they continue to struggle in the ongoing NBA season. Looking to change their fortunes, the Kings are now exploring the trade market and it seems that they found a trade partner, the Los Angeles Lakers.
And it looks like a trade deal is in the works right now which involves DeMarcus Cousins, D'Angelo Russell, and Julius Randle. Cousins, Russell and Randle are all regulars in the rumor mills the past few months and it seems they'll be the trade piece in a possible trade deal between the Kings and the Lakers.
For one, Cousins was being vocal with his discontentment how the King organization run the team and structure of their roster. And if the Kings continue to stumble on the following games, this might force Cousins to leave the team. As for Russell and Randle, they are the future of the Lakers franchise but the team wants to make a push to the playoffs and it could only happen a superstar like Cousins.
According to Sportsrageous, a serious talk is being discussed between the Kings and Lakers and the proposed deal is saying that the Lakers will receive DeMarcus Cousins while the Kings will acquire D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, and Jose Calderon's contract.
The report also says that it's a win-win situation for both teams as the Lakers will have Boogie as their main man in the offense with Jordan Clarkson, Timofey Mozgov, Luol Deng, Nick Young and Lou Williams to support him. As for the Kings, having Russell and Randle could give them talented players that might help the team for now and in the process build for their future.
On the separate report by The Inquisitr, the supposed trade deal works under the NBA trade rules as per checking in ESPN NBA Trade machine making it a legal trade for both teams. The Lakers are also trying to make a run in the playoffs after they fail to make it last season when franchise player Kobe Bryant retires.
With Kobe out of the picture, it would be best if they acquire a superstar like Cousins to replace him and be the new face of the team. And this could only happen if the Kings and Lakers will push the trade.
Will the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Lakers agree to a trade deal involving DeMarcus Cousins, D'Angelo Russell, and Julius Randle?
