What Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar did with the tabloid that 'divorced' them

So they are not getting divorced after 32 years of marriage, 19 kids and six grandchildren, affirm Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. They have issued a denial to the rumors that are circulating about them.

At Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo's wedding earlier this month, the two of them declared that their love is still going strong. There is going to be no divorce drama, says the couple.

It was 'In Touch Weekly' that came out with a cover story on their divorce. They had both been featured on its cover, under the headline: "Divorce Papers!"

However, the Duggars immediately clarified: "Don't believe everything you read in the tabloids! Michelle and I have been married for over 32 years and are more in love than ever!" Jim Bob Duggar wrote on his family's Twitter page. They put up a photograph that showed them both kissing and holding up a copy of the issue.

The story is interestingly put together. Hollywood Gossip explained that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's are probably getting divorced due to their breaking financial situation. Michelle is sure that they are getting devastated while Jim Bob is not acknowledging their financial problems.

He is rumoured to be depending on the TLC reality show, 'Counting On,' as their main source of income. Still, they suffered a pay cut when '19 Kids and Counting' got cancelled but got reworked as 'Counting On.'

Hence, while the divorce rumors are not true, the financial problems seem to be accurate. While companies have withdrawn their ads from the show, and their ratings have fallen, 'Counting On' still averages about 1 million viewers per episode.

On Twiter, the Duggars posed with 'In Touch Weekly' even though it has damaged their reputation. Earlier too, the tabloid played a big role in pointing out that Josh had sexually molested his sisters, and was not stopped by his parents even though he had informed them about it many times.

In an interview, the Duggar parents defended their actions and accused 'In Touch Weekly' of harbouring an agenda: "Every one of us has done things wrong. That's why Jesus came. This is more about there's an agenda, and there's people that are purposing to try to bring things out and twisting them to hurt and slander," Michelle said.
