Tony Romo remains with the Dallas Cowboys and he will serve as backup quarterback of Dak Prescott in next week's games against the Baltimore Ravens, according to Dallas Cowboys president Jerry Jones.
Romo had a good chat with the team's executive, Stephen Jones, after witnessing the Cowboys' victory last Sunday. It has been reported that as Jones offered Dak Prescott congratulatory handshake while Romo gave him a nod.
According to usatoday.com, he tapped Jones' shoulders to imply a hint that could just be perceived on Tony's lips. With this, one can read from him that he is indeed the man.
This signaled Tony Romo's return as quarterback, playing as a backup for Dak Prescott back up in the succeeding games of the Cowboys.
Jerry Jones expects Romo to show good playing performance like Prescott against the Baltimore Ravens next week. It can be recalled that Dallas was on a winning streak with 35-30 win over the Steelers last Sunday. Prescott really played beyond his years in that game.
Jones further clarified that everybody in the team wants to win and that there is no one from the Cowboys that will present some issue or any sort of consideration but to do what it takes to win every game.
Regarding Tony Romo's return, Jones added that it's not even important to deal with issues as to who is out on the field playing but for every Cowboys player to come out on the field to win.
Dak Prescott showed a great playing performance last Sunday as he completed 22 of 32 passes for 319 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Jones shared that he had a good discussion with Romo about the Dallas Cowboys as the two watched the last game together. He reiterated that nobody is happier for the team's success since it is Romo's success too.
If Romo will be able to play next week, he gets a second chance. He has already spent 14 years in the Cowboys. What matters more now is that he is the Dallas new No. 2 quarterback.
Romo has been working hard the past week and consistently showed progress during practices.
As he stays with the Dallas Cowboys, Romo and Prescott's partnership could lead the team to the NFC.
