George R.R. Martin's "Winds of Winter" would not have an early 2017 release. It is rumored that the author's writing process may delay the release of sixth installment in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series.
The fans of Martin's writing have been desperately waiting for "Winds of Winter" to arrive. However, their wait may not get over in 2016 at least, a report published by Christian Times suggests.
According to the publication, people around the world may have to wait a little longer for the book to be released as the author himself has confessed "slow progress" for "Winds of Winter" in terms of writing. It has been particularly difficult for people to wait for the next book ever since "Game of Thrones" Season 6 got over.
Famous television drama "Game of Thrones" is based on the novels in Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. So far, the six seasons of the show have covered the previous five installments in the author's series.
It is rumored that "Game of Thrones" Season 7 would be based on the latest novel, "Winds of Winter." Although there is still no official confirmation about the plot of the book or the show, it is rumored that "Winds of Winter" may be released just before "Game of Thrones" Season 7 premiere.
According to Martin's previous assistant and author Ty Franck, Martin is a great wordsmith, who prefers to sit idle in front of a keyboard and wait for an inspiration to strike before writing a piece.
He likes to deeply describe different scenes and then tie all the lose pieces together, rather than to have a definite end point in mind first.
This is the reason why his writing process is that slow, according to Franck, as told to Light Speed Magazine. Meanwhile, Martin has promised fans that he will update his blog as soon as a definite "Winds of Winter" release date is available.
