BioWare's most-awaited "Mass Effect: Andromeda", which a lot of people still refer to as Mass Effect 4, has been under development for years. As of now, the official information on the game was issued, revealing that it was slated for release in spring 2017.
Andromeda will be a freshly new start for the series while still maintaining much of its past lore. The move towards a fresh, new galaxy means BioWare can leave behind the decisions that players made during the original Mass Effect trilogy. To put it bluntly, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will not acknowledge your choice of ME3 ending.
Mass Effect Andromeda story - the beginning
With regards to the game setting, Andromeda will begin with you leaving the Milky Way galaxy right after the events of Mass Effect 2, but right before the Reaper invasion. It will then be a 600-year trip, during which time you are under cryo-sleep before you finally wake up as being one of the first humans in the Andromeda galaxy.
New races for Andromeda
There will be two new major races in Andromeda. A leak from PAX Prime back in 2013, when select fans were treated to a secret presentation and asked for feedback, these have been known as an aggressive race, and a peaceful, ancient 'guardian' race.
Confirmation on the two races
During a major marketing survey leak in April 2015, these races were named as the Khett and the Remnant. The Remnant race was confirmed in September 2016's PlayStation 4 Pro footage, while the re-named Kett was confirmed during the N7 Day event.
Andromeda will still let you engage in romantic relationships
Andromeda, much like all other Mass Effect games, will again give you the chance to engage in romantic relationships. BioWare has already said that players should be expecting this to work as other games in the series, as we as the concept of same-sex relationships, will of course be included.
