The upcoming $10K graphics card b AMD has created buzz on internet. The card is reportedly called Dracarys, which translates to "dragon fire" in High Valyrian, a language that is used in mega-hit TV series 'Game of Thrones'.
The new graphics card is reportedly in prototyping stages and is expected to be unveiled at the Supercomputing 2016 event next month in December.
AMD's supposed "Dracarys" may project soon to find its way to the market. A couple of weeks ago WCCFTech had published an article which was written by Khalid Moammer, who has open the lid for an allegedly AMD project which is scheduled for release in a Supercomputing 2016 event and called as "Dracarys".
As what Moammer described this mini monster's Thermal Design Power (TDP), "It breaths fire, what do you think?" What's more is that monster's sky-high price of $10,000!
AMD's most expensive graphic card will reportedly be having over 1TB of on-board graphics memory which is similar to how its high-end professional Radeon Pro SSG works. But Dracarys is far more integrated and a lot closer to the metal as compared to the Radeon Pro SSG.
The AMD monster is sure to breathe fire as it will be having the new 20+ FP16 teraflops VEGA 10 graphics engine on Dracarys that will be providing twice the GPU horsepower than the Radeon Pro SSG.
People from Reddit forum have doubts on whether this could be possible. One even said that having a 1TB is a joke and some have reservations about this project having a price tag of $10,000 is very expensive.
We should wait on the supposed sneak peek that is reportedly going happen at Supercomputing 2016 in Salt Lake City, UT. This event will run from November 13 to 18, 2016. Still, paying $10,000 will definitely seem like overkill for this graphics rendering horsepower.
