Jodi Arias is trying to raise money for legal fees by selling wristbands online.
The 33-year-old woman found guilty of murdering former boyfriend Travis Alexander has been behind bars for the past few months, while she awaits the sentencing portion of her trial. Since then, she's been trying to ramp up financial aid from her followers by posting links to her artwork, an online fund, and the latest - rubber bracelets.
"To raise funds for appellate costs, wristbands (or "Jodibands," as many people are calling them, are being sold at https://jodispage.com/support.html," she posted on Twitter last week.
On Thursday, she reminded her supporters once more that "the ONLY wristbands that are legit and that I endorse at the WHITE ones being sold at https://jodispage.com/support.html."
The wristbands are described on the site as "a symbol of our love and support for [Jodi]."
"They are...a way in which we can help raise money for her appeal," the statement continued. "All of the proceeds from the sale of these wristbands will be deposited into the JAA Appellate Fund. Every purchase is then, in essence, a pledge of $25 towards the fight for Jodi's freedom. If you believe in her, then fight for her."
Arias' mounting fees for her defense attorneys and court appearances have led her to sell a few original drawings - some of which are currently going for hundreds of dollars.
Jodi Arias was convicted of first-degree murder on May 8 after she reportedly killed Alexander in his Arizona home by shooting him in the head, slitting his through, and cutting his body multiple times. A jury couldn't decide whether to sentence to life in jail or to death. A sentencing date has been scheduled to begin in mid-February.
