Vin Diesel confirmed he would be meeting with the "Fast & Furious 7" production team to discuss the fate of the franchise on Jan. 10.
Diesel posted the following comment on his official Facebook below:
"We always took pride in trying to make each one better than the last...P.s. Tomorrow we meet with the studio, regarding the future of the Fast saga... and the completion of Seven."
"Seven" refers to "Fast & Furious 7", which lead actor Paul Walker was in the middle of filming before his death on Nov. 30. According to multiple reports, the studio has confirmed they would not be killing off Walker's character, but they have not announced how the character will be portrayed in the film.
Walker and Diesel were best friends on and off screen. Diesel has shared a series of personal memories with his fans since the news of Walker's death. The actor even opened up about what he did when he first heard of Walker's car accident.
"When I heard, I immediately flew back to California," Diesel began his Facebook post, "and went directly from the plane to his mother's house. I thought they needed my strength, but realized when I got there and broke down before his family, that it was I who needed theirs."
"His mother hugged me and said I am so sorry," he added. "I said sorry? You're the mother who lost a son? She said yes, but you lost your other half."
Many of Walker's "Fast & Furious 7" costars have opened up about his passing as well. Kurt Russell also recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the actor and humanitarian.
"That was a terrific guy," Russell told EW. "I just met him on the [movie] and I was just very struck by how similar our lives are and how we looked at life. All the things he did outside of acting that he really enjoyed were similar to the things that I like to do. He was a hell of a good guy."
