Some things are sizzling at the NBA rumor mill. The latest is about five remarkable players who are likely to be on the trade block.
According to FoxSports, Golden State Warriors is mulling to trade its shooting guard, Klay Thompson. In all probability, if a rumor is to be believed, he is heading to Boston Celtics.
NBA statistics revealed that Thompson had a poor season until he perked up in November. His revival began with a dream start against the Mavericks knocking down his first seven shots. He picked up further against the Suns tallying a season-high 30 points besides two rebounds and one assist.
Is GSW mulling the trade because Thompson is only at the 25 percent mark from three-point range on the season?
Sacramento Kings may have to do without the services of Willie Cauley-Stein, its power forward. He is unhappy with the treatment meted out to him. He has an unenviable record for the season with only13.8 minutes per game and several Did Not Plays. No wonder he wants to try his luck elsewhere.
Kings have several players on the list to be traded and it could very well be Willie Cauley-Stein. The only issue is who will take him?
Nerlens Noel, the power forward, has failed to shine in a competitive Philadelphia 76ers team. Probably, his injuries have contributed to his lackluster stay in the 76ers. Noel will be a free agent in 2017 and in all likelihood will be able to move out to another team that could be either the Celtics or the Toronto Raptors.
76ers have several trade partners and Noel could be a beneficiary here. Who knows, a change of scene for Noel could be just what the doctor ordered for him to realize his full potential and become a star.
DeMarcus Cousins, the center from Sacramento Kings, may finally be moved after being on the block for several years. He may be the one the Kings would move as early as December. It probably is a mutually beneficial deal for both Kings and Cousins. Cousins has not endeared himself to the team or the staff with many off-court issues dominating.
Cousins, a tossup for the best offensive center, could prove beneficial to the team that takes him provided it can control his hotheadedness.
One of the superstars to be rumored for trade is Anthony Davis, power forward from the New Orleans Pelicans. The team's performance is 2 wins and 10 losses for the season. To Davis, the losses are unforgivable as has lived up to his superstar status and performed creditably and his teammates have literally left him high and dry.
It appears that the Pelicans may trade him and the Celtics may get him at a high price.
