Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning arguably had the best season of his career in his second year in Denver. The future Hall of Famer completed 68.3 percent of his passes for 5,477 yards and 55 touchdowns - both single-season records.

"I've always appreciated and look forward to, as a fan of his growing up, going against a Peyton Manning-led team," Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers said, via ESPN. "The teams that we've both been on have had awesome games, and games have come down to the wire, overtime playoff games and our two games this year were really tight.

"They're a No. 1 seed for a reason. This is a heck of a team and it's rare to play an opponent three times in a season and being a division opponent, one we know well, they know us well. It's going to be awesome."

Rivers had a career season of his own. After struggling over the last two seasons, new coach Mike McCoy - the former offensive coordinator for Denver - has helped rejuvenate Rivers' career. The 32-year-old signal caller completed a league-high 69.5 percent of his passes for 4,478 yards, 32 touchdowns and just 11 interceptions.

Although Denver is the eight-point favorite to win, San Diego was one of the three teams to hand the Broncos a loss this season.

"It's tough to say you're confident knowing what you're going against. You don't want to take that the wrong way," said Chargers safety Eric Weddle. "Do we believe we can win (again)? Yes."
