'The Blacklist' Season 4 Part 2 Spoilers, News: Season 5 cancelled? Find out why!

NBC's crime thriller television series, The Blacklist is announced to be returning next year. Following this, rumors and updates about the possible events that are going to be shown in the second half of Season 4 are circulating online.

The previous half of the midseason revealed about the connection of Elizabeth 'Liz' Keen, portrayed by Megan Boone, and James Spader's character, Red Reddington. Red finally admitted to Alexander Kirk, portrayed by Ulrich Thomsen, that Liz is his daughter but what fans have been dying to know is if he was telling the truth or he was just saying it because it was what Kirk wanted to hear all along.

These questions will be answered, but not until the premiere of season 4 part two, which is going to be aired next year, according to International Business Times. It was also speculated that the upcoming episode will focus on whether Red was telling the truth or not. Since it left the fans into a cliffhanger episode, episode 9 will probably answer these questions, including the story of ALexander Kirk and other revelations.

A report also said thata teaser for the upcoming episode suggested that the team could be facing another threat which is probably hard to uncover. Additionally, the character's lives will be put in danger because a mole will be working with the team, which will be disclosing an important information to an unnamed villain.

However, rumors have it that fans and followers of the crime television series may be dismayed for a possible cancellation of the series. Movie News Guide reported that the NBC series might just focus on its spinoff series entitled, The Blacklist: Redemption, which was reported to have a crucial role played by Ryan Eggold.

Other reports are claiming that the show is likely to be cancelled because fans will lose engagement after all revelations gets revealed on the return of the fourth season, making the fifth season an unnecessary move by the network.

However it has not yet been officially announced by NBC. Meanwhile, The Blacklist Season 4 part 2 is set to return on January 2017.
