The royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton aren't going through a very smooth time now. They are both called 'Shallow Celebrities', while the Royals are dubbed as philanderers, according to no less a luminary than the Bishop.
It was an insult that didn't go down well with the Queen Mother.
That was a surprising misnomer and miscalculation on the Bishop's part. The 64-year-old bishop is soon slated to take over the Queen's royal diocese. Yet he not only called the royal couple names but extended that dishonour even to her son, Prince Charles, who he called 'Big Ears', with the royal family looked at as "philanderers."
The ex-Labour Councilor will fill in as the temporary Bishop of London, even as Dr Richard Chatres retires in February. Hence, Broadbent will remain in the position until a permanent successor is selected. However, the Queen has asked Dr Chatres to remain the Dean of the Chapel's Royal until another bishop takes over.
Undoubtedly, it would be embarrassing for the Queen if the royal worship is given to someone who speaks disparagingly of the monarchy.
On many instances, Broadbent has hurtled insults on the royal family. He said that its foundation is built on corruption and sexism, while Princess Diana is just a "porcelain doll."
He was clear also that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will split before seven years and they will be "set up to fail by the gutter press".
His volatile views got him a temporary suspension in 2010. He had written on Facebook following Prince William's engagement "We need a party in Calais for all good republicans who can't stand the nauseating tosh that surrounds this event."
While Dr. Chatres agreed that he would be retiring, the Queen requested him to continue as Dean. Broadbent reacted with some text messages that said the royals never expressed any interest in meeting him.
