While fans are waiting for the new Flash movie, it seems like the directorial position is still empty.
According to Cinema Blend, this year, both "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" director Seth Grahame-Smith and "Dope" director Rick Famuyiwa departed from the project due to creative distances with Warner Brothers.
Fans are demanding Kevin Smith to take the helm due to his dynamic knowledge of comic books and his experience as a director of CW's The Flash TV series.
During a recent Q&A session held by Kevin on Facebook, he discussed his thoughts on directing The Flash movie, if Warner Brothers happened to approach him.
"If somebody was like 'Do you want to do The Flash movie?' then this would honestly be my first response. I'd say absolutely, but you should try Tim Miller first. Or I'd say the Wachowskis. I'd list a bunch of other people who I would think would make a brilliant Flash movie," Kevin stated.
He further emphasized that the "Deadpool" director Tim Miller is a "visual genius" and although he is currently a Marvel director, but DC will be in gain if they could acquire the man, as per Comic Book.
On the other hand, Wachowskis is known for The Matrix trilogy, Jupiter Ascending and the Netflix series Sense8.
Kevin has expressed similar sentiments in his podcast- Fatman on Batman. Although he did mention other directors, but also admitted being very interest in the project himself.
Currently, Kevin is busy with his comic book work with the CW. He has already directed two The Flash episodes, namely "The Runaway Dinosaur" and "Killer Frost". He will also be directing the upcoming episode, "Supergirl Lives", of CW's TV series Supergirl.
The Flash has been scheduled to release on March 23, 2018, but with no one to hold the reins yet, the release date could be delayed. As of now, the movie's cast includes Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West and Billy Crudup as Henry Allen.
